A box commissioned for Tim’s 30th. It’s made from Cheery, African Padauk, and Queensland Silky Oak.
The African Padauk is the deep red timber. It’s quite hard and heavy and will darken over the years as it is exposed to sunlight. The same will happen with the Cherry (box sides) as it takes on a nice colour when sun-kissed. The box is finished with 6 coats of hand applied Shellac and a light waxing. The inside is lined with a bed of black felt.
